Daughter of Luis and Sylvia Hernandez, and sister to Luis and Marissa, Destiny graduated from Chandler High School in 2023 where she competed under coach Matt Lincoln. In her time at CHS she was in the National Society, and was an IMPACT Scholar while earning 100 volunteer hours.

While competiting at CHS she earned the following personal best marks: 5k- 20:08, 3200m- 13:08, 1600m- 5:58.

Destiny is currently working towards a degree in elementary education.
