Women's Cross Country finishes third at ACCAC Championships on Saturday

The MCC Women's Cross Country team finished third in the ACCAC Championships on Saturday.

MCC had three runners finish in the top twenty and six runners finish within the top thirty including Carmella Baldwin who had had an impressive finish for herself and her team.

Baldwin finished first overall and was named the individual Conference Champion; she finished the 5k with a time of 19:10, twenty five seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Assistant head coach Spencer Peterson and company were extremely proud of Baldwin for her outstanding performance.

"What a gutsy display of poise, control, and determination..all describes Carmella's commitment in this race today," said Peterson.

Regina Raimo finished 11th (20:45), Taylor Jacobs finished 18th (21:29) with teammate Danna Martinez Porras quickly behind as she finished 19th (21:30). Destiny Hernandez came in 25th (21:47), Kendra Guest came in 27th (22:03) and Tiffany Sanchez finished 37th (26:00).

"I am very proud of our women's team," said Peterson, "Danna had a big breakthrough, and Kendra came down with a cold. Our team battled the whole way but came up short! We have time for sure, and the Lady T-Birds will soar in six weeks at Nationals!"
