Women's golf now fourth, Vakasioula second at NJCAA wome's golf
Sanford, Fla. – The Mesa team, and star Alyzzah Vakasioula, both improved one place at the NJCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship on the second day of play Tuesday.
The T-Birds shot a 322, which combined with yesterday's 326 gives them a 648 total for 36 holes and moved them into fourth place.
Vakasioula also moved up one spot into sole possession of second place with a 75-74—149. However, she is now six strokes behind leader Nagano Minori, of Seminole State, who is at 71-72—143. Vakasioula is the only non-Seminole State player in the top five.
MCC's Viviana Holguin improved seven sports to a tie for 25th with an 84-78—162. Abby Schmidt is tied for 31st at 85-81—166 and Jolie Guyette is tied for 46th with an 82-89—171.
The tournament continues through Thursday.
