Vakasioula wins SW District women's golf title, team places fourth
Westworth Village, Texas – Alyzzah Vakasioula added yet another honor to her amazing career, winning the NJCAA Southwest District women's golf tournament. The only event she has not won over the last two years is the 2021 national championship, where she finished fifth.
Vakasioula shot a 75-68-79-222 over the windy Hawks' Nest G.C. Monday and Tuesday to win the event which included the top schools from Regions 1, 2 and 5. Mesa finished fourth as a team with a 324-317-334—975 for 54 holes. Western Texas won shooting a 312-313-324—949.
For the T-Birds, Abby Schmidt finished 11th, carding a 77-81-83—241. Jolie Guyette tied for14th at 83-81-82—246. Vivianna Holguin was 31st with a 89-87-90—266.
Mesa will have to wait to see if it earns an at-large bid to the NJCAA Division I national championship.
