Mesa women's golf wins Redhawk Rumble
Mesa women's golf continued its winning ways, capturing the Redhawk Rumble, winning by five shots over four-year Ottawa (AZ).
Led by medalist Alyzzah Vakasioula, the T-Birds fired a 334-322—656 to top Ottawa which led after the first round and posted a 333-328—661. Kansas Wesleyan placed third at 341-339—680.
Vakasioula won her eighth consecutive regular season event with a 76-71—147 over the Red Mountain Ranch Gold Course. That was 12 shots ahead of her closest competitor.
Abby Schmidt tied for third place in the 31-player event with an 80-83—163. Jolie Gavette was third for MCC and 11th overall posting an 88-84—172.
Mesa closes its fall season at the South Mountain Classic next Monday and Tuesday.
