Vakasioula wins again, opens women's golf season with Park U. title

Mesa, AZ – Alyzzah Vakasioula picked up right where she left off last spring by winning the Park University Fall Invitational and leading the Mesa women's golf team to a second place finish.

Vakasioula, a first team NJCAA All-American earlier this year, fired a 73-72-75—220 over the Superstation Springs G.C. layout and won by six shots over Kendall McBean, of Embry-Riddle.

That helped MCC to a 315-326-319—960 total, well behind Embry-Riddle which took the next seven places, en route to a 927 total.

The T-Birds captured ninth and tenth places with defending ACCAC champion Abby Schmidt ninth at 78-84-82—244 and newcomer Jolie Guyette tenth carding an 80-83-82—245.

Mesa waits until Oct. 2 to get back in action. They will play in the Fall Desert Duel at the Dobson Ranch G.C. in Mesa.
