Phoenix, AZ - The Thunderbirds men's track & field team had eight athletes who hit qualification marks for indoor nationals in both the individual events and in the relays at the PVCC Indoor Invitational on Saturday.

Donovan Castillo put his name in the school-record books with an astonishing performance in the 400m dash as he ran a time of 46.84. The previous school record was held by Jacob Samford when he ran 47.15 at last year's NJCAA Indoor Nationals.

Tyson Tippett qualified in two events, first in the 60m dash with a time of 6.82 and then in the 200m dash with a time of 21.54.

The distance medley relay (Samuel Green, Noah Clark, Ernest Green, and Hayden Gelder) hit a qualifying time of 10:15.53. Both Sam and Ernest doubled back in the 800m to hit qualifying marks in that event as well, running 1:56.56 and 1:56.75.

The 4x400m relay ran 3:12.97 to hit a qualifying mark and puts them as the No. 2 fastest indoor time in school history. The school record is 3:12.06 from the 2011 season.
