Lady T-Birds defend title as Vakasiuola leads the way

The Mesa Lady Thunderbirds shot rounds of 331-336-667 to win the Thunderbird Classic at Dobson Ranch GC. Mesa has won their hosted event 21 of the last 22 years. 

Sophomore Alyzzah Vakasiuola fired rounds of 73-75 to take medalist honors and lead the Lady T-Birds to a 27 shot victory over Pima CC (694).

Freshman Addison King 78-79 finished 3rd individually while teammate Raquel Pargas 87-81 finished 6th. Mary Tukuafu finished 17th. 

"A win is always good, but we will learn from our mistakes and make adjustments for our next event' said head coach John Guerrero. "These girls work hard and are coachable."

The Lady T-Birds will compete next on Feb 25-26 in the Paradise Valley Invite at the Encanto GC in Phoenix, AZ.
