No. 16 MCC Women's Basketball took home a resounding win over DI opponent Cochise College on Friday night, 64-54.
No. 24 Cochise was able to control the pace in the opening quarter as they held a 15-13 lead after the first 10 minutes of action. Mesa was able to regain their footing in the second quarter as they took a 31-29 lead into halftime.
The Apaches outscored MCC 10-14 in the third quarter as Cochise took a 41-43 lead into the final quarter.
In the final 10 minutes of play, MCC hit timely shots and took care of the ball down the stretch as they would secure the 10 point victory over Cochise.
Freshman guard Ashiian Hunter came up big for MCC as she led all scorers with 19 points, nailing three shots from behind the arc.
Mesa will be back in action on Thursday as they host Utah State Eastern.
