No. 16 MCC Women's Basketball opens up their regular season with a tall task as they host DI opponent, No. 24 Cochise College.
The Lady T-Birds are coming off a Region I Semi-Finals exit to Scottsdale CC last season as they concluded their 2022-23 campaign with a 20-10 overall record (15-7 ACCAC).
Last season against DI conference teams MCC fared well as they went 5-5. One of those five victories was against Cochise as the Lady T-Birds mounted a historic 15 point fourth quarter comeback to force the game into overtime where they would eventually win, 78-75.
The Apaches held a 28-6 overall record (19-3 ACCAC) while making it to the Region I DI Finals last year where they fell to Eastern Arizona College. Cochise also made an appearance in the NJCAA DI Women's Basketball Championship.
The game will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be hosted at Mesa Community College. Admission is free with the donation of a non-perishable food item.
