Mesa basketball hosts Glendale this afternoon.

Mesa basketball welcomes Glendale to Theo Heap Gymnasium this afternoon for another ACCAC battle.

Men's Basketball

The MCC team comes into their match up with the Gauchos holding a 7-14 record (3-11 ACCAC). The T-Birds are winners of one of their last five as they lost their last game against Arizona Western, 84-62.

Glendale comes into the game with a 9-12 record (4-10 ACCAC). Winners of two of the last five, the team has lost three straight. 

These two teams have already met twice, both games resulted in GCC victories. On Dec. 28 in a non-conference game they won 65-46 during the MCC holiday tournament, and on Dec. 10 Glendale snuck out a 74-68 win over the T-Birds.

Women's Basketball

The No. 11 Lady T-Birds come into the game with a 15-6 record (10-4 ACCAC). In their last game against AWC, AnnMarie Batista set a new career high with 23 points, hitting seven three pointers. The hot shooting was not enough though as the T-Bird lead slipped away in the final minutes resulting in a Matador victory, 57-58.

The Lady Matadors are winners of three of their last five as they hold a 5-16 record (3-11 ACCAC). Winners of two of their last five they knocked off South Mountain, 63-50 on Wednesday.

The first time these teams met the Thunderbirds came away with the victory, 62-49.

The men's game will tip-off at 2 p.m.followed by the women's game at 4 p.m.
