Men's cross country signs top runner, Resendez of Highland H.S., for fall season

The Mesa men's cross country team has signed another outstanding runner for the 2020 season, and this one has a very familiar name.

Caden Resendez, of state champion Highland High School, will join the T-Birds this fall. He is the son of Clyde and Michelle Resendez, both former MCC cross country coaches themselves.

"I'm very excited to welcome Caden into the Thunderbird program," said Mesa head coach Daniel Pescador "It's always special to have a runner of Caden's ability and accomplishments. I'm very confident Caden will come in and be an immediate impact on the national level."

Highland won the top Arizona classification title by 26 points, placing four runners in the top 10. Resendez was fifth overall in the state meet.
