The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released their Preseason NJCAA Division II Cross Country National Coaches' Poll for both men and women on Wednesday.

MCC's Cross Country programs were both well represented as the men came in ranked No. 3 and the women came in at No. 4.

Last season the Lady T-Birds rose to as high as No. 1 in the rankings and finished ranked No. 2 in the country. This year the team returns just one runner (Taylor Jacobs)  from last year's runner up in the NJCAA DII Championships.

The Thunderbird men's team ranked as high as No. 2 in the country last year before finishing No. 4 in the polls for the second straight year. The team has five returners all led by Javier Garcia.

Both teams see familiar faces in the top five including ACCAC opponent Paradise Valley. PVCC is ranked No. 2 for the women and No. 1 for the men.
