The MCC Volleyball team hits the road on Wednesday as they travel to take on the Glendale Gauchos in an ACCAC showdown.
The Lady T-Birds come into the contest with a 6-8 overall record (3-3 ACCAC). They are 1-4 in their last five matches including a loss in their last match to South Mountain CC, 3-2.
The Lady Gauchos hold a 6-3 overall record (4-2 ACCAC). GCC has gone 3-2 over their last five matches, but have lost their last two matches as they fell to Scottsdale CC (3-1), and Chandler-Gilbert CC (3-0).
As the season progresses wins are important, but conference wins are even more valuable. With how the ACCAC is stacking up it looks to be a dogfight between the teams fighting for the two through four seed as we have just over a month left in the regular season.
As it currently stands in regards to DII teams, SCC holds a firm grasp over the No. 1 spot with a perfect 7-0 conference record. GCC sits at the No. 2 spot with four conference victories followed quickly by MCC, and Pima CC who both have 3 conference wins.
For MCC to be able to make a push to improve their playoff seating, getting a win over GCC will be vital.
