Mesa, Ariz. - The Thunderbirds volleyball team fell to the Eastern Arizona Gila Monsters, 3-0, on Friday night.
The T-Birds weren't able to match EAC offensively through the first two sets. Losing both 25-16 and 25-14.
The T-Birds got out aggressively in the third set, reaching an 18-8 lead. But the Gila Monsters came storming back on a 17-4 run to win the set, 25-22, and sweep the T-Birds 3-0.
Mesa (2-3) will face EAC (11-4) again next Tuesday the 20th in a non-conference matchup at home.
