MCC Volleyball Beats Pima 3-1 in Third Annual American Indian Recognition Game

Mesa, Ariz. - The Thunderbirds volleyball team beat Pima by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday night.

The game was also Mesa's Third Annual American Indian Recognition Game, as Sweetie Cody (Diné) sang the National Anthem in her native language.

After the Aztecs won the first set, 25-19, The T-Birds came storming back to win three straight sets and earn the victory.

The T-Birds were able to come away with a thrilling back-and-forth win in an extended second-set, 30-28. Then they quickly handled the Aztecs in the third set with a 25-14 win and were able to hold off Pima in the fourth set, 25-21.

The T-Birds are now 2-2 on the season and will face off against the Eastern Arizona Gila Monsters on Friday night at home.
