T-Bird Track & Field sets new marks at NAU Ron Mann Classic

T-Bird Track and Field competed in the NAU Ron Mann Classic in Flagstaff, AZ on Friday.
Women's Track & Field:
Carmella Baldwin punched her ticket to nationals in the Mile as she clocked a time of 5:12.18 after altitude conversion. Pole Vaulter Madisyn Williams matched her season best mark of 3.50m.
Sara Jacobson had a record breaking day for herself personally as she set PR's in the 60H (9.40), Long Jump (5.22m), and the Shot Put (11.43m).
Men's Track & Field:
Austin John earned a new PR and punched his ticket to nationals in the weight throw as he captured a mark of 16.51m. Interim head coach Daniel Pescador was very excited for John who finally got over the hump after multiple close attempts.
"Extremely proud of Austin! He had a monster PR and punched his ticket to nationals. He's been very close, so he was due for a big one and I'm very happy he got it done today," said Pescador.
Corbin Pyle set his second school record this season this time in the 800m event as he finished with a time of 1:51.42. Pyle broke the record previously set by Ernest Green in 2024.
Trevon Dennard came extremely close to qualifying for nationals in the Long Jump, but he did set a new PR as he earned a mark of 13.72m.
The T-Birds have just three meets left in the indoor regular season as they will be back in action on Saturday.
