The United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association released their first Ratings Index for the 2025 Indoor Season listing both Mesa Track & Field teams in the Top 10.
Women's Track & Field:
The Lady T-Birds come in No. 10 in the country as they have had an exceptional start to their season. Seven different T-Birds have qualified for Nationals in four different events so far this season. Carmella Baldwin has come out of the gates hot as she has punched her ticket to Nationals in the 1000m and the DMR.
Men's Track & Field:
The Thunderbird Men check in at No. 9 on the index after they have had six T-Birds qualify for Nationals in five different events. Corbin Pyle has had a great start to the season as he has not only qualified for the 800m, 4x800m, & 1000m, but he also has set a new school record in the 1000m event breaking the previous mark at the PV Indoor Invitational this past weekend.
Interim head Coach Daniel Pescador is thrilled to see his T-Birds being recognized on the national scale. Pescador knows that this accomplishment is not credited to just one or two individuals but to all T-Birds Track & Field athletes and coaches.
"It's been fun watching every student athlete compete hard and improve! We have a tremendous group of student athletes and a phenomenal group of coaches guiding each of them in their respective events," said Pescador.
Mesa will be back to work on Friday as they travel to compete in the NAU Ron Mann Classic in Flagstaff, AZ.
