Bio

Name: Niji Hunter

Height: 5’ 4”

Hometown: Mesa, AZ

High School: Mesa High School

Track & Field Background: I ran Cross Country and

Track for three years and was coached by TJ

Hagen and Angel Torres.

All of my running PR’s”: came from my sophomore

year of high school and it disappoints me

that I haven’t been able to get back to that flow

but I am trying. Throughout those three years of

running I have dealt with many injuries and taking

care of my body was a main concern. So, with that

concern I found that I was really interested in the

human body and how the body works and how it

can tie into what I do in my daily life.

Favorite Food: Italian food, but especially bread,

Career Goal: Becoming a Physical Therapist. I

want to major in exercise science and first get my

associates as a Physical Therapy Assistant then

from there continue my education to become a Physical Therapist.

Motto I like to live by: Rome was not built in a day. I like this motto because it’s a constant reminder that you have to be patient when

getting to the end goal and that things wouldn’t turn out the way you’d want them to if you rushed it. For me this motto transitions into

running because I suffered an injury and I was brought to the bottom. I thought my talent would’ve come right back but I learned that’s

not how it works and I just have to build up my strength.

Why I Compete: Because running is so much mental toughness that it builds me up to not give up and just to keep going
