Women's Tennis rolls past Glendale on Thursday

The MCC Women's Tennis team kept their winning ways going as they captured another conference win on Thursday as they took down Glendale, 9-0.

The Lady T-Birds dominated in all sections of the match, sweeping in both singles and doubles action. In doubles play MCC dominated, earning commanding victories over the Gauchos.

In singles action Mesa cruised to victory but not without a little suspense as Journey Barajas came out on top in her No. 2 competition in three sets. Head coach Feroz Rast knows how big of a match this was for Mesa, and for the Lady T-Birds to compete at the level they did shows they are primed for a breakout season.

"What a match for the T-Birds. We knew GCC would be much stronger than last year and I thought our ladies were ready for the start. I really loved how great we played in doubles," said Rast, "sweeping the doubles point and only two games in all three matches really showed we were ready to show our dominance. I am looking for us to continue to grow and improve and can't wait to see how we do against a very strong Grace College team next week."

Mesa will have their hands full as they host a tough Grace College team on Tuesday and will jump right back into conference play on Thursday as they host Paradise Valley.
