Kylie Williams named ITA JUCO Region II Sophomore Player of the Year

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced their 2023 ITA JUCO women's regional awards on Friday.

Kylie Williams of the MCC women's tennis team was recognized as she was named as the ITA Sophomore Player of the Year for Region II. 

Williams was resilient in her time at MCC especially in her sophomore year as she overcame injuries and adversity, head coach Feroz Rast who has been her coach since she came to MCC was elated to learn of the award.

"Kylie more than deserves this award and recognition. She is the ultimate competitor.  Coming from her fabulous freshman year where she only lost one match all year to a junior college she was ready for a big time sophomore year," said Rast, "she battled major injuries to lead us to a second place conference finish and a top 25 place at Nationals. Kylie was our team captain and led by example on the court and in the classroom. She is an honors graduate and looks to continue her love of the game by coaching high school starting next fall."
