No. 25 Women's tennis gets another four-year victory, tops Colorado St.-Pueblo, 6-3

Mesa, AZ – The 25th-ranked Mesa women's tennis team won its third match in a row, and second straight over a four-year opponent, by taking down NCAA Division II Colorado State-Pueblo Wednesday, 6-3, at the MCC courts.

The T-Birds, now 7-5 for the season, defeated NAIA College of Idaho Monday, 5-4, and have now won five of their last seven matches.

"Another great win," exclaimed head coast Feroz Rast. "We played like champions today. It was our third match in three days, and against a D2 school. We needed to be playing extra tough.

"Big time wins by freshmen Kylie Williams and Brianna Clayton in third set tie-breakers. I look for us to take this momentum into tomorrow's match against a very strong Eastern Arizona team. So proud of the ladies."

The match against EAC will be at home for Mesa at 4:00 p.m.
