No. 11 women's tennis wins 11th straight, blanks Pima, 9-0
Mesa, AZ – The No. 11 Mesa women's tennis team won its 11th consecutive match Wednesday, a 9-0, blanking of Pima.
The victory was also the 31st consecutive ACCAC win for MCC dating back to 2013. The T-Birds are now 11-3 overall with a 6-0 conference mark.
"Our women were a little off today but still posted some good results," said head coach Adam Cohen. "I am hoping we learned from today a bit. If so, we are on the right track."
The T-Birds' top three nationally-ranked players all scored solid singles wins. Khanh Huynh, ranked No. 13, won at No. 1 over Emma Oropeza, 6-1, 6-1. No. 32 Naa Ankrah was a 6-0, 6-0, winner at No. 2 over Janine Fernando and No. 43 Yolanda Carlon took a 6-0, 6-0, victory over Dana Pineda at No. 3.
Mesa will see action next Tuesday when it hosts Eastern Arizona at 1:30 p.m.
