Women's Soccer earns a win in season finale

Monday October 28, 2024 - 1:00 p.m. | Dylan DeVlieger

Mesa Women's Soccer ended their 2024 season in the win column on Saturday night as they took down Paradise Valley, 3-0.

The Lady T-Birds came out aggressive and connected as they totaled 12 shots on goal in the contest. Both Mesa and Paradise Valley were unable to find the back of the net in the first half, but after the break MCC broke the deadlock.

Just over a minute into the half Brylee Allen scored thanks to a Grace Otero assist. Just six minutes later Ella Adams added to the lead, scoring in the 51st minute. In the 62nd minute Brylee Allen scored her second goal of the night to put the T-Birds up 3-0, a score that would hold true until the final horn sounded.

Mesa ended their season with a 6-9 overall record (6-8 ACCAC) just missing out on the Region I postseason as they finished in 5th place for the third straight season.

Brylee Allen led the way with 10 goals making her the first Lady T-Bird with 10 or more goals in a season since Annabella Bara back in the 2021 season. Kennedy Birk totaled 75 saves on the year which is the 5th most in the conference this season.
