Mesa Soccer welcomes Pima Community College to John D. Riggs Stadium on Tuesday night for an ACCAC showdown.
Men's Soccer:
The No. 14 Thunderbirds suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday as they fell, 2-1 to Glendale. Mesa's offense struggled until the later part of the contest as they were outshot 13-4 in the match.
No. 5 Pima enters play on Tuesday with a 3-0 record (3-0 ACCAC). The Aztecs have collected wins over Scottsdale, Chandler-Gilbert, & Paradise Valley. Pima's offense seems to be clicking early as they are averaging 15.3 shots/game and 4.67 goals/game.
When these teams matched up last season Mesa fell to the Aztecs, 4-1.
Women's Soccer:
The Lady T-Birds also lost their match of the season on Saturday, falling to the Gauchos 2-1. Mesa had three times as many shots as Glendale (18-6) yet were not able to convert those shots into goals when the opportunity presented itself.
Pima comes in with a 3-0 record (3-0 ACCAC) with wins over Scottsdale, Chandler-Gilbert, & Paradise Valley. THe Aztecs have only allowed one goal all season and are finding the back of the net themselves, averaging four goals per game this season.
