MCC Women's Soccer picked up a critical win over Chandler-Gilbert CC on Saturday, 4-1.

The Lady T-Birds came out with an intensity to start the game that carried over into their success on the pitch. MCC dominated the ball early and often as they were able to score three goals before the halftime break.

In the 25th minute Rylee Liljenquist found the back of the net for her first goal of the season, Zashary Rosas followed up with her first goal of the season in the 34th minute. Just before half in the 44th minute Karen Reyes would put one past the keep from outside the box to notch her first goal of the year.

Hailey Hough would score her team leading eighth goal of the season in the 68th minute to put the game out of reach. MCC would surrender one goal in the 76th minute but would lock down defensively from that point out to secure the win.

Taylor Ah Quin-Soren who is normally a field player was in goal for MCC in the game and played a great game, only allowing one goal with five saves.

With the victory MCC improved their overall record to 5-9 and their conference record to 4-7 with just one game remaining on the year.

MCC will travel to Glendale CC on Tuesday for their final regular season game of the year. If MCC wants to have a chance at the postseason, they will need to defeat the Gauchos and hope for a Cochise College victory over CGCC.

MCC Soccer would like to thank their Sophomores this season for all of the hardwork and dedication on anf off the field!
