Women's soccer goes on the road and sinks Paradise Valley, 2-1

  Paradise Valley, AZ – Rylee Rottweiler scored a goal in the 60th minute to break a 1-1 tie and the Mesa defense made it stand up in a 2-1 victory over Paradise Valley Tuesday.

  The win broke a five-game losing streak for the T-Birds and improved their record to 2-9 and 2-5 in ACCAC play. PVCC falls to 6-4 and 3-4 in conference.

  MCC grabbed a quick lead as Ilya Valdez scored her first of the year just ten minutes into the contest.

  PVCC tied it just two minutes before halftime, but Rottweiler netted her fourth of the season to account for the final margin.

  Sarah Banks started the game in goal and played the first half, making three saves. Taylor Ah Quin-Soren completed the game, making two saves.

  The T-Birds outshot the Pumas, 18-10.

  Mesa returns home Saturday to host Cochise in an early start at 6:00 p.m.
