Rottweiler leads women's soccer to 6-0 win over Glendale

  Mesa, AZ – Rylee Rottweiler scored two goals and added an assist as the Mesa women's soccer team won its first game of the year, and its first conference contest, 6-0, over Glendale Saturday night at John D. Riggs Stadium.

  The T-Birds, now 1-4-0 and 1-0-0 in ACCAC play, took a 2-0 halftime lead and built from there.

  Rottweiler got things going with an unassisted goal in the 14th minute and Ava Armstrong added another with just two minutes remaining in the half.

  Rottweiler got things re-started just seven minutes into the second half and Sarah Banks, Olivia Rodina and Xizlaly Padilla all added scores to account for the final margin.

  MCC out-shot the Gauchos, 21-3 for the contest.

  Mesa visits Phoenix Tuesday and Scottsdale Saturday before returning home for a contest with Yavapai Sept. 20 at 7:00 p.m.
