  Mesa, AZ – A pair of first half goals by 16^th-ranked Scottsdale proved too much to overcome in a 2-0 non-conference women's soccer loss to SCC Saturday at John D. Riggs Stadium.

  The Artichokes' Sydney Evans score both times, once in the 24^th minute and then again in the 36^th to improve her team to 2-0-0 while the T-Birds fell to 0-2-0.

  SCC dominated the contest offensively, out-shooting Mesa in shots on goal, 18-3. MCC goalkeeper Sarah Banks made 16 saves during the contest.

  Mesa will have the entire week off as its scheduled match at Glendale Tuesday in a non-conference has contest has been cancelled. The T-Birds will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 2, at home against Paradise Valley. Game time will be 8:00 p.m.
