Lady T-Birds comeback to win SM Invite

After disappointing play in round one, the No. 12 Lady T-Birds improved by 24 strokes in round two to win the South Mountain Invite played at Cave Creek GC in Phoenix, AZ on Wednesday. 

Mesa shot a first round 347 and trailed CGCC (346) by 1 going into day 2. After making adjustments to course conditions, the T-Birds shot 323 in the second round to capture their 4th victory this season. Mesa shot 347-323-670 and bested CGCC 346-332- 678 who finished second. South Mountain came in third shooting 389-370-759.

All 4 ladies improved from day one. Alyzzah Vakasiuola 75-68-143 won her 4th title this year. Addison King 84-79-163 finished 7th. Raquel Pargas 89-86-175 and Mary Tukuafu 99-90-189 finished 9th and 16th respectively.

The Lady T-Birds close out conference play April 14-15 at the Chandler-Gilbert Invite played at Las Colinas GC before competing in the NJCAA Southwest District Championship the following week.
