Come-from-behind win secures women's golf's 23rd straight ACCAC victory

  Buckeye, AZ – In a rare come-from-behind victory, the Mesa women's golf team captured its 23rd consecutive ACCAC tournament at the Estrella Mountain Invitational Friday.

  Trailing by five shots  to South Mountain after a 335 first-round, the T-Birds bounced back in the final 18 holes with a 317 to win by seven shots over the Sundance G.C. Desert Course layout.

  Leading the way individually was Jolie Guyette who placed third with an 85-77—162 total. Presley Pickron tied for fifth place at 83-81—164, while Abby Schmidt tied for seventh with a 92-74—166. Her second round 74 equaled the low round for the two-day event.

  The Paradise Valley Invitational is next up for the MCC women, March 6-7.
