Pickron leads women's golf to 21 straight ACCAC win, taking Pima women's Invitational
Tucson, AZ – Led by Presley Pickron, who shred medal honors, the Mesa women's golf team began its spring season the same way it finished the fall, with its 21st consecutive ACCAC tournament win with a 23-shot victyory at the Pima Women's Invitational Saturday and Sunday.
Pickron blazed the Randolph Dell Urich G.C. layout with a one-over-par 71 on the first day but had to settle for an 82 Sunday for a 153 total. That tied with players from Pima and South Mountain.
The T-Birds carded a 305-322—627 to top South Mountain which had a 320-330—650.
For MCC, Abby Schmidt shot a 77-79—156, good for sixth place individually while Mackenzie Vongphosy had a 79-78—157 to take seventh place.
MCC goes back into action at its own Mesa Invitational Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 14-15.
