Women's golf wins 16th straight ACCAC event at South Mountain Fall Invitational; men 4th

  Laveen, AZ – The Mesa women's golf team won its 16th consecutive regular-season ACCAC event at the South Mountain Classic, while the men placed fourth in the tournament played Monday and Tuesday Aguila G.C.

  MCC's Presley Pickron captured medal honors for the women with a 75-68—143 as the T-Birds took three of the top five individual places and won with a 311-295—606. Host South Mountain was second at 312-311—623.

  For Mesa, Abby Schmidt placed fourth at 74-75—149 and Jolie Guyette was fifth with a 79-77—156.

  The MCC men were paced by Thomas Ribeiro who was tied for 18th place at 75-74—149 while Ray Ramirez tied for 20th place shooting a 76-74—150.

  The men's team shot a 298-294—592. Glendale won the event at 293-277—570.

  The women go into action again at the RMJG Fall Shootout Sept 25-27 while the men next play at the High Country Shootout in Ruidoso, N.M., Saturday and Sunday.
