Schmidt leads women’s golf to Pima Invitational title
Tucson, AZ – Abby Schmidt won her first collegiate tournament, leading the Mesa women's golf team to the title at the Pima Invitational played at the Randolph G.C., Monday and Tuesday. It was the T-Birds' fourth straight tournament win.
The T-Birds recorded a 361-355–716, 58 shots in front of Paradise Valley.
Schmidt shot an 84-83–167 to edge teammate Presley Pickron who had an 87-81–168.
Carly Goodrich was in sixth place, carding a 94-94–188 one stroke ahead of Sarah Cordova at 92-97–189. In addition, Victoria Pena was another shot back with a 96-94–190.
Next up for MCC is the Estrella Mountain tournament Friday and Saturday at the Coldwater G.C.
