Myerscough leads Mesa win at Lady Thunderbird Classic
MESA, AZ - Sierra Myerscough (So., Champaign, Ill/St. Thomas More H.S.) put together the best tournament of her Mesa career and helped lead MCC to a 34-shot win at the Lady Thunderbird Classic Thursday.
The event was played at the Dobson Ranch G.C.
Myerscoiugh fired a one-under-par 72-71--143 to lead the T-Birds, overtaking teammate Charatta Thongbai (So., Gilbert, AZ/Dobson H.S.) who was second at 69-75--144, for medal honors.
Mesa closed with a 300-306--606, 34 shots ahead of South Mountain and 97 clear of Chandler-Gilbert.
Brianna Medrano (Fr., Queen Creek, AZ/Gilbert H.S.) finished sixth at 79-80--159 and Jill Harvison (Fr., Mesa, AZ/Mountain View H.S.) was seventh with an 80-80--160.
The T-Birds next play in the Scottsdale Inv. March 15-16 at the Hillcrest G.C. in Sun City West, AZ.
