No. 5 Women's Basketball continued their perfect conference season over the weekend as they took down Phoenix College, 74-51 improving their record to 16-6 (10-0 ACCAC).

Mesa's first quarter saw the T-Birds letting the Bears hang around as after the 10 minute period the score was 15-10 in favor of MCC. However, just like in their last contest against Glendale Mesa turned it on in the second quarter scoring 25 points and holding PC to just nine.

Britany Kogbara had an explosive quarter as she went 4-4 from the field scoring eight points, blocking four shots, and grabbing three rebounds.

The third quarter was similar for Mesa as they outscored the Bears 22-13 and Kogbara again had another outstanding quarter scoring 10 points in the 10 minutes she played.

The T-Birds starters got some well earned rest in the fourth period as MCC had built enough of a lead to cruise to victory.

Mesa had an efficient day shooting the ball as they went 31-58 (53.4%) from the field. The T-Birds also dominated the glass grabbing 43 boards to the Bears 19.

Breakout T-Birds:

Britany Kogbara posted another double-double as she had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Ashiian Hunter scored 10 points while dishing out five assists, Bella Barrett had 10 points, six of them in the first quarter. Aaliyah Garcia had a great game off the bench as she scored 11 points and had seven assists in her 22 minutes played.

No. 5 Mesa will be back in action on Wednesday as they hit the road to take on No. 10 Pima.
