Mesa, Ariz. - The Thunderbirds women's basketball team beat Central Arizona Wednesday night, 64-54.

It was a neck-and-neck game during the first half, as CAC led one point at halftime, 28-27. But the lady T-Birds had a solid second-half surge as they outscored CAC, 37-27.

Mesa was led by Mykah Anderson and Nia Boston, who both scored 16 points. Mia Ross led the way for the Vaqueras, scoring 19 points.

The defense was perhaps the biggest reason why MCC ended up winning, as they limited CAC to just 34.4% shooting overall and 20% from three.

The lady T-Birds (5-1 overall, 2-0 ACCAC) will play Chandler-Gilbert at home this Saturday.
