Mesa Uses High-Low Game to Wear Down Phoenix College, 73-59

Mesa, AZ - The Phoenix College Bears had no answer for Mesa's Allies Fuller Saturday afternoon as Fuller scored a career high 28 points in Mesa victory over PC, 73-59.

Fuller not only had a career high in points but she finished with a double-double, with 11 rebounds.  Also having a big game for the T-Birds was Quynne Huggins, who finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and two assists.  Sham Troupe had eight points, 11 rebounds while Takara Wade had 12points, four rebounds and three assists.

The T-Birds took a 26-19 lead at the end of the first quarter but pushed away from the Bears in the second quarter by outscoring the Bears, 15-9, to take a 41-28 lead at halftime.

From there on out, Mesa out played the Bears, particulary in the paint as Mesa scored 48 points in the paint compared to just 14 for PC.

Rebounding was also a big difference in the game as Mesa outrebounded the Bears, 49-27, with Mesa having 24 offensive rebounds that led to 17 second chance points.

The T-Birds move to 12-5 overall and 8-3 in the conference.  They will be back at home on Wednesday night against the South Mountain Cougars, tip off at 5:30 p.m.
