Women's Basketball to Host Phoenix College Tonight in Semi-Final at Theo Heap Gym, 7 p.m.
The #2 Mesa Thunderbirds will play host to the #3 Phoenix Bears tonight in the ACCAC DII Semi-Finals at Theo Heap Gym with a 7 p.m. tipoff.
Mesa comes in with a .500 record at 15-15. It's been the tale of a few different seasons for Mesa as they have suffered the injury bug throughout the whole season.
Through it all though, the T-Birds have earned their #2 spot with hard work and sophomore leadership. Briana Clah has stepped into the point guard position and averaged 15 points a game with five rebounds a game.
The Mesa post players Destinee Wright and Natalie Stilwell with the help of freshman Allies Fuller have established the low block and showed a toughness and tenasity that never quits.
The #3 Bears also come in with a 12-10 ACCAC record, 16-14 overall record. Mesa and Phoenix split the two contests they played earlier in the season. Mesa won the first game at Mesa, 67-43. Briana Clah and Taylor Reed each scored 12 points.
In the second game at Phoenix, the Bears won, 62-56. Sham Troupe scored nine points with 14 rebounds.
