MEZA, AZ – Building on their first ACCAC championship in 28 years, the Mesa men's track and field team followed that accomplishment by capturing the Region I title Thursday at John D. Riggs Stadium.

The T-Birds used a sweep of the top four places in the hammer, as well as the top three in the pole vault, and saw its outstanding depth make the difference as MCC scored 223.5 points to easily outdistance Central Arizona (198) and Pima (197) in the five-team field.

The Mesa women placed third in their championship with 149 points. CAC won with 309 and Pima was second at 206.
