The MCC softball team fell to Phoenix College in their first game of the NJCAA Region I tournament on Thursday, 10-2.

Phoenix got things started early as they scored 10 runs in the first two innings. The Bears were able to keep things locked down defensively only allowing two runs to MCC.

With the loss the Lady T-Birds will be the loser of the No. 1 seed South Mountain and the No. 4 seed Chandler-Gilbert Friday at 10:00 a.m.

If MCC wins their game tomorrow at 10:00am they will play the loser of the 1:00 p.m. game which features Phoenix College and the winner of SMCC vs. CGCC. If the Lady T-Birds lose their 10:00 a.m. game on Friday their run at the Region I tournament will come to an end.
