The MCC softball team got a sweep of Scottsdale Community College on Saturday afternoon. With the two wins the Lady T-Birds record improves to 23-19 (17-19 ACCAC).

Game One:

MCC got on the board early as Alex Reeve hit her 13th home run of the year to put her team up 2-0. In the 2nd inning Kylie Wilhelms would hit a triple that brought in two, while pitcher Sydnie Navaho helped her own cause with an RBI single.

In the 4th SCC would answer back with one run off an error by the MCC infield. In the 5th the Artichokes were threatening with the bases loaded and nobody out until Wilhelms swung the momentum with her second unassisted double play of the day. That play helped keep SCC off the board.

In the 5th Reeve came up big again as she knocked an RBI double to push the lead 6-1.

SCC would load the bases again in the 6th inning and again the Lady T-Birds were able to get out of it unscathed. SCC would score two runs in the top of the 7th but it wasn't enough as MCC took game one, 6-3.

Game Two:

MCC picked up the scoring in the 2nd inning as Leilanie Dalizon hit a double bringing in two runs, Reeve would follow with an infield single that would score one run.

Lexie Roberson would add one in the 3rd with a sacrifice fly, SCC would put up one in the 5th inning to bring the score to 4-1.

MCC put up five runs in the 5th inning behind Dalizon 2 run RBI triple, an RBI double by Vero Gonzales and Wilhelms, and an RBI single from Rylee Blackburn

Lady T-Birds come away with a 9-1 win in five innings.

MCC will have a busy upcoming week as they are in action Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
