Mesa, AZ - A strong Central Arizona squad ran its record to 16-1, with a 7-1 ACCAC mark, with a 15-1 (5) and 8-0 (6) sweep of Mesa Saturday afternoon.
The Vaqueras started strong in the first game, jumping to a 5-0 lead in the first inning, highlighted by a two-run home run by Bella Garcia.
MCC scored its run when Danielle Ayaze led off the third inning with a double and came home on a sacrifice fly by Alanie Ormelas.
The T-Birds, now 0-12, 0-12, host Scottsdale for a 1 p.m. doubleheader Wednesday.
