Men's TF Closes Outdoor Regular Season at Canyon Invite

Phoenix, AZ - The Thunderbirds men's track & field team closed the outdoor regular season at the Canyon Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

The T-Birds added two new athletes to their list of qualifiers for outdoor nationals.

Devin Jackson ran a personal-best time of 54.92 seconds in the 400m hurdles and Greyson Akers ran a PB time of 9:47.98 in the 3000m steeplechase as they both hit qualifying marks for the first time this season.

Noah Miller finished in first place in the shot put with a PB mark of 16.32m. The 4x400m relay also finished first with a time of 3:23.46.

Ernest Green (1:51.06) and Samuel Green (1:51.39 PB) went 1-2 in the 800m run. Yotuel Garcia was sixth with a 1:53.67 PB.

Tyson Tippett was third in the 100m dash (10.42 seconds) and fourth in the 200m dash (21.35 seconds). Ousman Jagne finished in sixth place in the 200m dash with a 21.46 second PB.

Donovan Castillo was fifth in the 400m dash with an outdoor season-best time of 47.12 seconds. Jeremiah Reed (6.98m) and Jaylyn Martin (6.97m) went 5-6 in the long jump.

Up next, the T-Birds will compete in the NJCAA Region I Championships. The decathlon and heptathlon will take place on Monday, April 24th, and Tuesday the 25th. The remaining events will be on May 2nd and May 4th. Mesa's home track, John D. Riggs Stadium, will host the championship meet.
