MTF Earns 7 All-American Honors on Day Two

Topeka, KS - The Thunderbirds men's track & field team had seven athletes earn All-American honors on day two of the 2023 NJCAA Indoor Championships.

The 4x800m relay (Samuel GreenNathan PavelchikGreyson Akers, and Hayden Gelder) earned AA honors after a sixth-place finish with a time of 7:47.23.

Both Donovan Castillo (seventh place - 47.43) and Joshua Boehm (eighth place - 48.00) earned AA honors in the 400m dash final.

Ernest Green ran a personal-best time of 2:30.30 in the 1000m final to finish in eighth place and earn AA honors.

The 4x400m relay (Boehm, Joshua AndersonOusman Jagne, and Castillo) finished in 10th place with a time of 3:16.20.

Theodore Gosselin was 12th in the heptathlon (4353 points), Yotuel Garcia was 14th in the mile (4:14.85), and Alex Hernandez was 14th in the weight throw (14.58m).

The T-Birds finished tied for 18th in the team scoring with 11 points. South Plains (TX) and New Mexico JC were co-national champions with 107 points each.

Mesa will start their outdoor season on March 16th with the Mesa Outdoor Multi & 10K. It will be the first home meet this year on the newly resurfaced track at John D. Riggs Stadium.
