Men's tennis completes play at NJCAA championships, now 12th
Plano, Texas – All three of Mesa's remaining entrants in the NJCAA Division I Men's Tennis National Championship lost to seeded opponents, ending MCC's run at the event.
The T-Birds are in 12th place with 16.5 points.
Leandro Prado, who won his first two matches, fell in the quarter-final round to top-seeded Dario Kmet, of East Florida State, 6-0, 6-0.
Then, Duncan Mulenga, who also reached the round of eight, lost to No. 1-seeded Sergio Gomez-Bolz, also of East Florida, 6-3, 6-0.
In addition, the No. 3 doubles team of Mulenga and Tate Porter dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to fourth-seeded Charles Heffernan and Edward Shteyn, of Collin.
