Men's tennis falls to Pima, 7-2
Tucson, AZ – The Mesa men's tennis team lost its first ACCAC match of the year in a 7-2 decision against Pima Tuesday.
"The men really fought hard today against a very good Pima team," noted head coach Feroz Rast. "It was tough facing them with a short-handed lineup but we still had our chances. We had a big opportunity to win No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, but only managed to get the second. Saa.rang and Emilio fought really hard but lost 9-8 in a tie-breaker. Max and Hung had a huge win at No. 2 doubles coming back from 3-6 down to win 9-8. Going into singles we had to win all four of our matches and we just could not put it together. It will be nice to have a week before our next match to get everyone healthy and fix some things in practice."
The T-Birds will return to action next Tuesday against Indiana Wesleyan in a home match at 4:00 p.m.
