No. 8 MCC Men's Soccer remains undefeated against DI opponents after their thrilling 3-2 win against Yavapai College on Saturday.

With ties in their last three contests the Thunderbirds looked to make a statement against the Roughriders.

The game remained scoreless until just before halftime when YC was able to put one past MCC goalie Owen Clifford. Just like they've done all season, MCC made adjustments at halftime and came out in the second half with the intensity to tie the game just five minutes into the second half as Cody Helmhout was able to notch his first goal of the season.

YC would answer extremely quickly as they would regain the lead within a minute to adjust the score, 2-1 in their favor.

MCC would again answer back in a big way as Abdiel Beltran scored his second goal of the year in the 60th minute to tie the game, and Joshua Rodriguez would find the back of the net for his first goal of the season in the 65th minute to give the Thunderbirds the 3-2 lead.

MCC would lock down defensively for the remaining 25 minutes to secure the victory.

With the win MCC's overall record improves to 3-1-3 (1-0-3 ACCAC). The Thunderbirds will be back in action on Saturday as they host Scottsdale CC.
