The No. 16 MCC Men's Soccer team earned their second victory on the year Tuesday night as they beat Paradise Valley, 2-0 to improve their record to 2-1 overall (0-0 ACCAC).
The first half was a battle back and forth as both teams could not gain the upper hand on the other resulting in a 0-0 score after the first 45 minutes.
The second half began much like the first half, close scoring opportunities but neither team able to sneak it past the keeper until the 64th minute when a Cole Wood pass would find its way into the back of the net off the foot of Joseph Rodriguez.
In the 88th minute Mark Gomez would score his second goal of the season as he would propel the ball into the back of the net off a goalie deflection.
The Thunderbirds will be back in action on Tuesday Sept. 5 as they kick off conference action against Arizona Western College at home.
