Prescott, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds men's soccer team scored a big road win Tuesday night as they defeated the Yavapai Roughriders in Prescott, AZ, 3-0.
It was a satisfying victory indeed as the T-Birds avenge an earlier loss in the season at Mesa, a 4-2 Yavapai win.
Adnan Elaqad scored the opening goal for the T-Birds in the 29th minute of the first half, giving Mesa a 1-0 lead going into half.
The second half goals were then scored by Victor Cruz, knocking in goal two just five minutes into the second half. Then it was Diego Casillas who finalized the final goal in the 72nd minute.
With the win, Mesa 2-6-1 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play. The T-Birds travel down to Pima this Saturday for a 7 pm match.
